Dave Wennergren, deputy chief information officer of the Defense Department recommended these books as his top ten for CIOs:
- “Leadership is an Art” by Max DePree (CEO of Herman Miller)
- “The Power of Alignment” by George Labovitz and Victor Rosansky
- “Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done” by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan
- “The Speed of Trust” by Stephen M. R. Covey ( Dr. Covey’s son )
- “Good to Great” by Jim Collins
- “The Tipping Point” by Malcolm Gladwell
- “The Innovator’s Dilemma” by Clayton Christensen
- “Polarity Management” by Barry Johnson
- “Leading Change” by John Kotter
- “Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything” by Don Tapscott and Anthony Williams
They are certainly all good recommendations. I am kinda tired of hearing people talk about the bus (collins); and, Tipping Point doesn't seem to be a leadership book as much as a self-awareness book - although, I enjoyed the read.

I believe that one book outweighs all others: "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor Frankel. His story is profound and his message is powerful.
